Key Ingredients

Castor Oil: (Ricinus communis ) – This remarkably powerful oil is derived from the seeds of the castor oil plant, which is indigenous to the Mediterranean, Eastern Africa and India. Rich in vitamin E, castor oil can help your skin to remain youthful and energized while reducing the occurrence of skin complaints. Castor oil is popularly known as a healing oil for every purpose because of its anti-inflammatory properties. In addition to treating a wide variety of skin conditions, castor oil helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Dead Sea Mud This miraculous mud provides numerous benefits - some of which stem from the wealth of minerals it contains, and others stem from the cleansing and exfoliating properties of the mud.

Apple: (Malus domestica) High in vitamins and rich in fruit acids, apple extract can reduce the signs of ageing, reduce puffiness around the eyes and produce a brighter skin tone. Apples have been grown for thousands of years in Asia and Europe, and they were taken to North America by European colonists.

Avocado: (Persea Americana) Rich in vitamins A, D and E, avocado oil encourages collagen production and reduces signs of ageing. This oil is also a good source of sterolins, which can soften skin and reduce the frequency of age spots. Avocado is an effective natural moisture and is often used to treat eczema, wounds and solar keratosis. Originating from Puebla in Mexico, avocado has long been cultivated in South and Central America. Avocado oil is beneficial for dry and itchy skin, and because it promotes the production of collagen, it also inhibits the ageing process.

Dead Sea Salt: Two thousand years ago Flavius wrote about the healing qualities of the Dead Sea salts, and today we continue to rely on these rich salts to promote healing. Bathing in high quality sea salt can replenish the minerals which are critical to our skin metabolism. Calcium can help to prevent water retention, increase circulation and strengthen bones and nails. Potassium energizes the body, while helping to balance out skin moisture and replenish the body following exercise. Bromides ease muscle stiffness and relax muscles. Magnesium fights stress and fluid retention, while reducing the signs of aging and soothing the nervous system. Sodium supports the lymphatic fluid balance. By promoting cell regeneration, the salts can renew and rejuvenate your skin, while also reducing cellulite, slowing skin ageing and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Dead Sea Salts can simultaneously moisturize, detoxify and soften the skin, while helping to treat conditions including acne, dandruff, dermatitis, eczema and scabies. The salts are also treasured for their ability to reduce stress, relax muscles and eliminate toxins.

Grapefruit: (Citrus paradisi) In addition to its refreshing citrus aroma, grapefruit is a cooling and cleansing essential oil which is often used to treat acne. Grapefruit oil increases your skin’s pH level, which can be beneficial in the treatment of acne. Grapefruits are a hybrid fruit, combining sweet oranges with Indonesian pomelos. The carbohydrates, amino acids and fruit acids in grapefruit provide a source of natural moisturization and skin cleansing.

Jojoba: (Simmondsia Chinesis) This natural emollient is rich in nutrients such as vitamin E and B, silicon, chromium, copper and zinc. As a natural source of iodine jojoba oil is an effective anti-fungal and antibacterial treatment, while its gentle moisturizing properties make it a great friend of your skin. The jojoba plant is native to North America, specifically northern Mexico and the southwest US.

Papaya: (Carica papaya) The enzyme papain in papaya is a powerful natural exfoliator. As well as reducing the appearance of freckles and sun spots, papaya extract produces smoother, healthier-looking skin. Papaya extract is used to treats wounds because of its antibacterial properties. Native to the tropics of the Americas, papaya was first cultivated in Mexico.

Peach: (Prunus persica) Tones, refreshes, moisturizes and nourishes the skin. Contains abundant potassium and flavonoids which help to revitalize your skin while boosting recovery and preventing the early signs of ageing. Peach trees are native to China and South Asia, where they have long been celebrated for their flowers and fruit.

Shea: (Vitellaria Paradoxa) This natural fat is derived from the nuts of the Karite tree, and has been treasured as a beauty treatment since antiquity. Shea butter is a great natural moisturizer thanks to its oleic acid and phytochemicals. Shea butter also contains vitamins A,E and F, which help to balance, soothe and hydrate your skin. This age-old treatment can help to diminish stretch marks while reducing other blemishes and marks. Shea butter can rejuvenate dry skin and replenish damaged hair, while also reducing the appearance of wrinkles and stretch marks.

Watermelon: (Citrullus Lanatus) An effective natural moisturizing agent, a sunscreen and exfoliant. Watermelon extracts contain glycerin and is effective at fighting acne while revitalizing tired skin. Watermelon is a flowering vine which is native to South Africa.

What is Clean Beauty?

With words such as green, natural and organic we are often misled into thinking a product is ‘clean’ without checking the label. Clean beauty means that a product is safe, non-toxic, and has transparent labeling of ingredients. Just because a product is green/natural/organic it doesn’t mean it is clean. Clean Beauty, at its core, is a product that is safe to use with no harmful ingredients (to reiterate: not chemicals, but ingredients!).

Small Batch production

Small batch production has taken off in the last 2-3 years with local businesses taking the lead. From decor and beauty to food brands, we are seeing a huge shift in expectation from consumers as well as brands leading the process. Conscious consumers are moving away from mass-produced, large-scale beauty products to sustainable and eco-friendly makeup brands that operate along ethical lines. A renewed focus on zero-waste makeup is also part of this planet- and people-conscious movement.
